Hotel Casa del Pellegrino in the heart of history
I found out what’s around the Hotel casa del pellegrino and I am pleased to share it with you.
I saw nearby the house of the famous physicist, astronomer, philosopher, mathematician Galileo Galilei, who lived in town 18 years teaching at the University, he was considered the founder of modern Physics.
From the window of the Hotel you can see the Loggia Odeon Cornaro, built in 1524 and considered among the first experiments in modern theater through Alvise Cornaro (patron Veneziano).
Outside, I noticed the house where Melchiorre Cesarotti lived, around 1800, he was professor of Greek and Hebrew at the University of Padua, and translated the poem “The Odyssey” by Homer.
Close to here you can also see the house of Nicolò Tommaseo , linguist and writer, friend of Manzoni, and the house of Antonio Rosmini, 1717, philosopher, who wrote “The five wounds of the Holy Church”.
Then I also noticed the house of Donatello , who lived in Padua in 1443 and built the equestrian statue “Gattamelata” (an Italian famous leader).
No one would ever say that so much history was around the Hotel Casa del Pellegrino.
